How to – Enable HomePage Setting in Internet Explorer

Today a friend of mine came to me with a problem. She had installed an application and her homepage was set to a page she didn't want, plus her HomePage setting was disabled in Internet Explorer.

If you face the same situation, below is how you can re-enable your HomePage settings using registery editor:

Start -> Run, Type “regedit” and hit Enter. (Running regedit differs from OS to OS)

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Internet Explorer -> Control Panel
Right-click “Control Panel” and click New -> Dword Value
Name this value as HomePage
Set the value to 0 to unlock HomePage setting

DO the same thingsĀ for HKEY_CURRENT_USER. (steps are the same)

Now HomePage setting should be enabled. You can set it as you like.

Hope this helps someone.

Good luck,
Serdar
