I have briefly mentioned DMOZ on my post here: http://big.info/2014/09/why-submit-your-website-to-dmoz.html.
In this post I will provide step by step instructions on how to submit your website to DMOZ.
There are 4 main steps in the submission of a website to DMOZ (Details here):
- Determine whether your website is appropriate for submission to the ODP
- Do a quick search in the directory at www.dmoz.org to be sure your website is not already listed
- Identify the single best category for the site (DMOZ requires you to submit your website to a single most relevant category. Websites suggested to inappropriate or unrelated categories may be rejected/removed by the editors)
- Click “suggest URL” and follow the instructions
And here are the step by step instructions on how to submit your website to DMOZ:
1- Go to DMOZ.org
2- Browse to the category that you think your site is most related to
3- Browse until you see the “suggest URL” link on the top-right
4- Click “suggest URL” link if you think this is the most related category for your website
5- You will see a page like the one below. Read the instructions and fill it out carefully
6- Once you complete the submission you will see a page like the one below
7- Now, hope you have understood the rules well and chosen the correct category. If you have, your site will be listed on DMOZ and its partners in 2 weeks to several months time.
Hope this helps.
